Description
After a long stretch out of school, Waku Heike transfers to a new high school in present-day Japan, hoping to start over. His classmate Minori Oura is known as a famous model’s younger sister and hardly ever smiles. When he catches a glimpse of her laughing in private, he is smitten. Over lunch together, she starts to relax around him, and he sees a side of her that their classmates rarely get to see.
Awkward jokes, wildly expressive faces, and an encouraging group of classmates keep the romance playful. Beneath that sweetness are worries about self-worth, loneliness, and living up to other people’s expectations. A secret gradually draws the two closer, and their trust grows through the care they show each other. It is mostly a warm, light read, with some emotionally vulnerable moments. Graphic violence is not a focus.
