Description
Domestic Girlfriend is set in present-day Japan and follows Natsuo Fujii, a high school student who wants to become a novelist. He has a crush on his teacher, Hina Tachibana. At a mixer, he also gets involved with a girl named Rui. When his father remarries, Natsuo discovers that Hina and Rui are sisters—and his new stepsisters. Their feelings develop in secret, complicated by family ties and the risks of a teacher–student relationship.
Relationships develop early, and the story follows their consequences alongside friendships and Natsuo’s writing ambitions. It grows beyond school romance into adult responsibilities and career choices. Warmth and comedy sit alongside jealousy, infidelity, grief, and serious violence. Sexual content and nudity are prominent. The overall tone is dramatic and often emotionally heavy, with repeated setbacks and sharp changes in direction.
