Description
During summer break in present-day Japan, second-year high school student Haruto Ōtsuki takes a housekeeping job. Raised by his grandmother after losing his parents as a child, he is an able cook and housekeeper. His first client turns out to be the family of Ayaka Tōjō, the most popular girl at his school. Classmates who had barely spoken now find themselves spending time together in her home.
Meals, chores, and Ayaka’s welcoming family give this romance its domestic focus. Haruto’s practical kindness wins people over, while Ayaka’s reactions to their growing closeness provide gentle comedy. The mood is mostly sweet and reassuring, though Haruto’s childhood loss is part of his background. Expect everyday affection and a capable, considerate lead, with plenty of inner thoughts explaining how the two feel.
Pros
- Haruto’s competence and considerate actions make him an appealing romantic lead.
- Warm interactions with Ayaka’s family give the romance a cozy atmosphere.
- Expressive faces convey Ayaka’s changing feelings.
Cons
- Repeated inner thoughts and dialogue can make scenes feel overexplained.
