Description
At a high school in contemporary Japan, Mona Kawai is used to being the center of attention. Transfer student Medaka Kuroiwa seems immune to her flirting, so she makes it her mission to win him over. Medaka is a monk in training trying to obey his temple’s rules against romance, and his strained self-control looks like indifference to Mona.
Mona’s polished image clashes with her flustered inner thoughts, giving the teasing much of its comedy. Ran Kuze’s expressive artwork accompanies bold flirting, sexualized gags, and plenty of embarrassing misunderstandings. The cast gradually widens into a harem-style romantic rivalry, with friendship, jealousy, and wavering feelings complicating the playful school-life setup.
Pros
- Detailed character art and expressive faces keep the visual comedy lively.
- Mona’s confident act and panicked inner reactions make a fun contrast.
Cons
- Repeated misunderstandings and indecision can make romantic progress feel stalled.
- The growing harem can disappoint readers drawn to the original two-person dynamic.
- Frequent fanservice can overshadow the sweeter romantic moments.
