Description
On the Shonan coast of present-day Japan, high school student Sakuta Azusagawa spots a girl in a bunny suit at a library. She is Mai Sakurajima, a famous actress and an older student at his school, yet no one else seems to notice her. Sakuta tries to understand the strange phenomenon known as Adolescence Syndrome, and their growing closeness becomes part of the search for an answer.
Dry teasing and awkward comedy sit alongside loneliness, bullying, and the pressure to fit in. The mood shifts from playful to anxious and tender, with sexual humor and fan service along the way. Tsugumi Nanamiya’s complete two-volume manga adapts the opening novel of Hajime Kamoshida’s Rascal Does Not Dream series. Later novels have separate manga adaptations with other artists.
Pros
- Detailed artwork and expressive character reactions by Tsugumi Nanamiya.
- Deadpan humor and awkward encounters keep the central romance lively.
Cons
- The fan service may distract from the emotional story.
- Condensed dialogue and inner thoughts can make some scenes feel brief.
