Description
In contemporary Japan, junior high student Kyotaro Ichikawa retreats into violent fantasies and a self-image as an outsider. His thoughts fixate on Anna Yamada, a popular classmate who works as a model. When he keeps finding her sneaking snacks in the school library, her clumsy, easygoing side makes her harder to dismiss.
The short chapters build a first romance through small favors, awkward conversations, and things the two struggle to say. The focus gradually shifts from Kyotaro’s abrasive inner monologue to mutual trust and growing self-confidence. It is mostly a warm coming-of-age story, with loneliness and insecurity underneath; crude sexual jokes and the opening murder fantasies give some of the humor a sharper edge.
Pros

- Small gestures and expressive reactions carry the romantic tension.
- Yamada’s goofy habits bring warmth to the school comedy.
