Description
The Promised Neverland begins in 2045 at Grace Field House, an isolated orphanage in a fictional world. Emma, Norman, and Ray grow up under the care of Isabella, whom the children call “Mom.” Their days revolve around games, daily tests, and waiting for adoption. When they uncover a terrible secret about what happens to the children who leave, they start planning an escape. They have to hide their plans from the adults and keep up the normal routine, while Emma is determined not to leave the younger children behind.
The opening is a battle of wits built on observation, deception, and careful planning. The story later grows into a wider survival adventure, with more action and questions about freedom, the value of a life, and how far someone should go to protect others. Family affection and moments of hope soften the darkness, but this is a tense, emotionally heavy read. Expect child endangerment, deaths, and bloody violence. Small visual clues are part of the suspense.
