Description
In contemporary Japan, deaf college student Yuki Itose meets Itsuomi Nagi when he helps her during an awkward encounter on a train. He studies at the same university and spends much of his free time traveling abroad. Although he speaks several languages, he knows no sign language. As they grow interested in each other, signing, lipreading, and messages on their phones become ways to bridge their different experiences.
Working together as suu Morishita, writer Makiro and artist Nachiyan use expressive faces, carefully drawn hands, and changing lettering to convey Yuki’s perspective. The romance progresses early, making room for the couple’s everyday life and the friendships around them. The mood is gentle and affectionate, with jealousy, overprotectiveness, and unrequited feelings adding tension.
Pros

- Yuki and Rin’s supportive friendship adds warmth beyond the romance.
Cons
- Itsuomi’s unexpected touching can feel intrusive.
- Oushi’s overprotective behavior can be frustrating.
