Description
At a high school drama club in present-day Japan, Eiji Kitahama jokes about wanting a harem like the ones in manga. Rin Nanakura, a younger club member with a crush on him, responds by acting out different romantic character types. She switches between teasing, cool, and clingy roles, using the performances to flirt without speaking as herself.
The supposed harem is Rin’s one-woman show, and their shared game gradually becomes a more personal connection. Short, episodic chapters follow their school days and growing closeness. The tone is mostly warm and playful, with occasional self-doubt and worries about what comes after school.
Pros
- Playful chemistry built around Rin’s improvised roles.
- A romance that develops beyond the initial crush.
- Warm everyday moments with relatively little drawn-out drama.
Cons
- Very short chapters and large time jumps can make the pacing feel uneven.
- Readers looking for a wider ensemble may find the supporting cast underused.
