Description
In contemporary Japan, Mitsuha Miyamizu lives in the mountain town of Itomori, while Taki Tachibana attends high school in Tokyo. Without warning, they begin waking up in each other’s bodies. Notes and rules help them navigate unfamiliar friends, family, and daily routines, and an unlikely closeness grows between two people who have never met.
Awkward body-swap comedy gradually gives way to a romantic mystery about memory, longing, and the fear of losing a connection. The contrast between rural life and the city shapes their discoveries about each other. Ranmaru Kotone’s three-volume manga adapts Makoto Shinkai’s animated film project, moving from everyday humor toward a more tense and bittersweet story.
Pros

- The body swaps explore identity and expectations through everyday choices.
