Description
At Seirei Academy in present-day Japan, half-Russian honors student Alisa Kujou, nicknamed Alya, sits beside the seemingly lazy Masachika Kuze. She scolds him in Japanese but lets her affection slip out in Russian, convinced he cannot understand. He catches every word and keeps that to himself, leaving her unaware of how much she is giving away.
Student council work and an election campaign give the pair reasons to rely on each other beyond their classroom banter. It is mostly a playful school romance, with expressive reaction shots, jealous moments, and plenty of fanservice and suggestive jokes. Insecurity and strained family relationships add heavier passages, so the mood is not always carefree. Physical slapstick appears, but graphic violence is not a focus.
Pros
- Expressive character art makes Alya’s flustered reactions especially effective.
- The language secret gives the flirting a playful extra layer.
Cons
- Fanservice and sexual jokes may distract from the romance.
- The opening can feel familiar if you have read a lot of school rom-coms.
